Haitess

Minha Contribuição para o projeto Haitess!

My contribution to the project Haitess!

About the project:

Hello from Haitees!

We’re a two man, non-profit charity organisation running out of Sheffield in the UK. As a couple of Graphic Design students, we didn’t have the sort of money to dig deep for charity when the earthquake hit the island of Haiti in early 2010, but we did have the skill and knowledge to try and put a decent charity project together, and so was born Haitees.

Our mission is simple; we approach some of our favourite designers and ask them to donate a design to the cause. We’re working with the t-shirt printing site mysoti.com to print them up (they’re very kindly working alongside us at just cost value) and then forward ALL the profits to charity. This works out at about 40% of the total price, including p&p. Nobody else makes a buck at any stage in the process. Our chosen charity is the Red Cross, and this is because after some research early on in the project, we discovered they were already well-established in the area and were best equipped to know where and how money should be directed. They were also one of the most impartial charities at the scene, harbouring the least political and religious agendas. This was a big deal for us, as I’m sure it would be for you.

So, we were wondering if you would like to help us out?

The brief is simple; we just need designs that we can put on a t-shirt. It doesn’t have to be related to Haiti, it doesn’t even have to be related to anything! We just want to put up as many good t-shirt designs as we can and try and get people buying more and more of them. We have a decent roster at the moment and we’re always looking for more. The situation in Haiti, as I’m sure you know, still remains dire. Since the disaster the Haitians have had to face tropical storms, and now a cholera outbreak has claimed over 1,600 lives. Our latest effort involves running a t-shirt advent calendar during the run up to Christmas, so we’re hoping to find enough designers to help make that happen.

If you think you could find the time to donate a design, or already have one lying about, we’d love to hear from you. We understand that this may be a very tight time scale, however we do hope to keep this project running beyond Christmas as well, so please don’t let the time put you off! MySoti are able to print at a very high resolution and on great quality shirts, and hopeful any questions you might have can be answered in this FAQ on the MySoti site: http://www.mysoti.com/mysoti/view/faq

We hope you can find the time to support our project, and maybe we will hear form you soon.

Thanks for your time!
